Nexus Integra is a standard, open, integrated operational platform capable of creating a global operations and monitoring environment for large-scale industrial asset management.

The Nexus Integra platform will allow you to promote the digital transformation of your organisation. You will be able to connect all your assets and information systems, processing them using Big Data technology and obtaining a single framework of operations for their monitoring, management and analysis.

As an enabler of digital transformation, the platform offers a 360º vision that provides companies with the knowledge and tools necessary for a real transformation of both production processes and the way people work.

In this post we solve the most frequent doubts that exist regarding the integrated operational platform, its implementation and the unique possibilities it offers.

How does Nexus Integra work?

Before responding to the most relevant Nexus Integra FAQs, it is important that you understand how the platform works and its component parts.

Nexus Integra is made up of a powerful three-layer structure that helps companies integrate, acquire, standardise, unify, manage and display data in a simple way:

1. Nexus Connect

Data ingestion: Acquisition of large amounts of data regardless of the source, allowing interoperability with other corporate information systems.

It allows the intake of large amounts of data, from dispersed and non-standardised sources, to unify and store them so that they can be visualised and exploited.

2. Nexus Core

Data processing: standardisation, structuring and unification of the acquired data, providing a single data core for the exploitation of the information in a transversal way.

It is the engine responsible for managing unstructured data, translating it into a single language to create a data center that companies can easily exploit.

3. Nexus Apps

Data visualisation: Exploit and obtain value from data thanks to native applications: Smart SCADA, dashboards, comprehensive alarm manager, reports, Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning and other third-party applications through our Rest API.

You will be able to optimise costs and make your business profitable thanks to this layer, which allows 360º visualisation of the company and your business model.

Can I deploy Nexus Integra in any sector?

Nexus Integra is applicable to a wide variety of industrial sectors, regardless of their individual needs. Through its technological ecosystem of partners, it has specialised solutions for each sector, which are fully integrated into the platform. In addition, the interoperability that characterises Nexus Integra allows it to be compatible with all types of external and specific systems for each industry or sector.

Nexus Integra is a proven solution in different industrial sectors such as water, ceramics or food. In addition, its Nexus Smart City solution also allows centralised management of smart services in any city.

For example, in the water sector, the platform is able to remotely control and manage supply and hydraulic stations and determine the probabilities of bacterial infection.

In production sectors such as ceramics, it is able to solve production errors in advance, thanks to its predictive model detecting manufacturing failures in advance.

Frequently asqued questions when implementing Nexus Integra

Once we have seen how Nexus Integra works, we proceed to solve the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the trading platform: Nexus Integra.

1. If I already have a MES System, why do I need Nexus Integra?

Nexus Integra offers governance power over data from all production processes. Any MES system can become more competitive with Nexus Integra, dynamically extracting and feeding the core of its data for real-time asset and production performance and traceability analysis.

Through a public web API Rest, the platform establishes a bilateral communication channel with applications such as MES so that information flows between both systems. In this way, the system becomes more productive, enhancing its function of improving the competitiveness and profitability of the industry.

To cope with increasingly complex operating systems and data sets, the traditional MES system can easily connect with Nexus Integra for a global, connected and fully automated operations environment.

2. Does Nexus Integra replace a SCADA?

Nexus integra is not a substitute for SCADA systems. In the event that SCADA systems already exist, Nexus Integra will manage all of them from a centralised control center. If none exists, the production chain can be easily configured thanks to the SMART SCADA tool and this model can be combined with existing SCADAs.

3. Do I have to acquire Nexus Integra full version?

The full version of Nexus Integra includes the three layers that make up its structure (explained at the beginning of this post), and the four applications that it integrates:

  • Smart SCADA: tool to control, monitor and navigate through your facilities.
  • Dashboards: application to analyse information processes and make decisions.
  • Alarms: customisable notification system defined according to established criteria.
  • Reports: application to analyse and share historical data both online and offline.

But you DO NOT have to buy the full version, you will always buy Nexus Integra is a completely individualised and tailor-made solution. You can customise all the functions according to the characteristics of your company and also adapt budgets based on them.

The third layer of data visualisation offers a series of native applications that you can use, adapting them to your needs: Smart SCADA, dashboards, integral alarm manager, reports, Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning, as well as other third-party applications to which that you can access through our API Rest.

The advantage of the platform’s scalability will allow you to add functionalities and data in an agile way and without limits.

4. How long does it take to deploy Nexus Integra?

It depends on the degree of digitalisation of the company in question. Nexus Integra deployments are quick and easy, so in just two weeks you can have the platform deployed in your company and obtain short-term results.

Of course, it will be necessary for you to have the digitalised data and an internet connection. The rest of the resources such as machines, Azure Server, OPC, etc. will depend on the needs of each client. That is why we always carry out a prior consultancy to assess the client’s level of digitalisation, provide the most adapted solution and guide them in their digital transformation process.

Most of our clients are going through some point of their digitalisation process when they implement our platform, so everything will depend on each individual case.

5. Where can I install Nexus Integra platform?

Nexus Integra does not require a large amount of processing resources for its implementation. The platform can be deployed on the servers that the client already has.

The minimum requirements consist of having the data digitalised and, ideally, an on-premises or Cloud server where to install Nexus Integra. Although with the digitalised data and a good internet connection as a base, we can take care of setting up everything else.

Depending on the client’s needs in the first consulting stage, we will indicate the technical requirements that the server must have, and we will recommend the characteristics of the machine that is needed, depending on the number of variables and the scalability of the company. It is important to take into account all the needs of our clients, and if you want to have high availability, or if it is not the case.

6. The installation process of Nexus Integra

To begin, the technical team travels to the company premises and evaluates the best way to introduce the software to extract the full potential of the data.

Once the situation has been studied, the project is sized and the business development team sends the company an offer to start the project. In the Ebook below, you will find the five steps to implement Nexus Integra.
